Variable Trolling Control
Yamaha’s variable trolling control lets the skipper adjust engine idle speed in 50 RPM increments via the digital gauge. This allows you to set a precise trolling speed for better lure presentation when targeting different fish species.
High Output Alternator
With up to 50-amps, the high-output alternator delivers plenty of power to keep charging the battery even a low RPM. Provides plenty of power to run an array of electronic devices.
Multi-Point Electronic Fuel Injection
Working in unison with multiple sensors and the electonic control unit, the Multi-Point Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) system injects the right air - fuel mixture at the optimum timing. Delivers maximum engine performance and quick engine starts.
16-Valve DOHC Engine
A proven 2.8 Litre, 16-valve double overhead camshaft (DOHC) In-Line design, with four valves per cylinder maximises efficiency and power. The streamline design achieves an impressive power-to-weight performance.
Tilt Limiter
Available on Mechanical Control (MEC) outboards, the built-in tilt limiter automatically stops engine tilt at a set point. This prevents the cowling from hitting bait boards or other boat parts.
Digital Gauges & Displays
This engine is compatible with Yamaha's complete line-up of digital gauges and advanced touchscreen displays. Easy to read, simple to use and providing fingertip access for all of your engine’s vital functions and statistics.
